I am Sukhdeep Kaur. I have done Bachelor of Vacation – Management &Secretarial Practices from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, The Heritage and Autonomous Institution. KMV is a place where one can learn more than one can expect.

I am very thankful to my college for developing me and my skills.

During this course, I got theoretical knowledge as well as practical exposure. Workshops, seminars, extension lectures and educational visits help me to enhance my inner qualities. The hi-tech labs, college infrastructure, smart class rooms as well as helpful teachers made our study easier and joyful.

The best thing about the degree is having the freedom to think of an idea and test its practical application. I feel extremely lucky to be in this environment that allows me to conduct research, so in all my time here I have never felt bored.

I was not aware about the B.Voc Photograohy and Journalism programme. I just heard about the course from one of the faculty members of the college. When I came into this field, I was very shy and was not able to speak even  in front of my class teachers but now this Programme has given me such a confidence that I can address  to a gathering even. Discussion and debates on the current topic are the regular activity of the programme. These days,  I am working as a senior Reporter in Dainik Jagran newspaper. I would suggest everyone if you want to develop writing and speaking skills, you must join this programme.

The Photography and Journalism program has been a great practical learning experience for me. The department is having audio and video studios where I used to practice the news reading, anchoring etc. I had a dream of becoming an anchor for television channel and this programme has fulfilled my dream. The department is fully equipped with latest technology of camera and other infrastructure.  Department teachers helped me a lot for polishing my communication skills and now I am working as an Anchor in News 24 channel.

The degree offered a valuable hands-on experience. Through diverse topics and field projects, one’s skills get polished and it enhances creativity too. Taking Photography and Journalism as my subject has made me a better and confident person. I learnt the basics of photography and trust me it’s not that easy but really it’s fun and interesting.
